Exclusion Zones, Nursing Homes

Intensive isolation + unidirectional alienation.

According to the New York Times 1.5 million people live in our nation's 15,000 nursing homes.

These homes require much attention (applied to the institution itself) and expense. Information and visibility move one way - the world's image is omnipresent in the nursing home (e.g. television) but the nursing home is not present in the world's consciousness. The zone allows itself to be invisible.
